Surprise Kate Sighting...

We had not expected to see Kate before the baby is born, but we had a surprise sighting earlier today.

Kate is thought to be around 4-6 days late already, but this didn't stop Kate from taking Prince George to Buckingham Palace for a morning dip in the swimming pool.
photo via The Daily Mail

Kate has previously revealed that Prince George loves to swim and they were photographed leaving after a morning swim on Prince George's birthday last year.

They were accompanied by five bodyguards and George's nanny, Maria Borrallo.

It is unclear what Kate is wearing, however we imagine something very comfy given that she is now 9-months pregnant.

It was also revealed today that the Duke and Duchess had their staff order breakfast pastries and coffees for the fans who have been waiting outside the Lindo Wing.

Rumours were fuelled when the packages arrived with pink ribbon round them, however a royal insider has said that it was just a coincidence and that the cafe just happens to use pink ribbon. They re-stated the fact that the couple do NOT know the gender of their unborn child.

Now, I know I said this last time, but, I really don't think we will see Kate again before the baby is born! But, I was wrong last time, so I may be wrong again!

A local told US Magazine: "She had a protection officer with her and another woman, who didn’t look like Carole. George was in a cute jacket and was having the time of his life, if those giggles were anything to go by."

Kate took George to Bucklebury Farm Park several times last Summer too and took him to Snettisham Park last month, where people reported he looked to be having lots of fun. He has clearly taken after his parents and enjoys the outdoors and countryside. OK magazine has now published all the photographs from their visit to Snettisham Park on their website which can viewed here

For Sunday's visit Kate was wearing her Barbour jacket and what is believed to be her Topshop Maternity Leigh Jeans which are available for £25.

Kate also wore her Mint Velvet Bibi Plimsoll which are available for £89.

Prince George looked adorable in a tweed jacket which is thought to be a bespoke piece. He also wore Petit Bateau Baby Boy Dungarees in Blocked Jersey which are available for £46.

He also wore his Start-Rite Flexy-Soft Air Shoes which Kate reportedly purchased for him last month. They are still available for £40.

It was lovely to see that Kate and George are getting to spend so much time together before the new arrival!

In other news, Prince William will take a much longer paternity leave this time. Kate is also expected to take longer maternity leave too.

However, instead of just the 2-weeks statutory paternity leave, Prince William will take 6-weeks paternity leave. He will continue working as a pilot to the end of April but will then not return to work until June 1st.

It will give him and Kate plenty of time to spend lots of time with their new family and help ensure that there is enough attention for the new baby and Prince George too!

You can read more about it at the Daily Mail.

It is unlikely that we will see another Kate sighting before the new baby, so until then!

Kate's Maternity Wardrobe...

Whilst we wait for news of the latest arrival I thought we could look back over Kate's maternity wardrobe with her second baby and compare to her maternity wardrobe with Prince George.

It all began on Monday 8th September when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had to announce their second pregnancy early once again.

September had planned to be a busy month for the Duchess, following a quiet August, when the Duchess only attended two official engagements. However, due to her severe morning sickness this was not possible and all her upcoming engagements - including her first solo overseas trip to Malta - were cancelled.

However, despite a few more cancelled engagements in October, there was the first un-official sighting took place. On Wednesday 15th October, Kate and William were photographed leaving a doctor's office. Kate wore a Beulah London cape and her Aquatalia wedge boots.

This was followed by an official engagement on Tuesday 21st October when the Duke and Duchess greeted President and First Lady of Singapore, Tony Tan Keng Yam and Mary Chee Bee Kiang, at the Royal Garden Hotel. The Duchess re-wore her Jane Taylor hat from Easter and debuted a new coat by Alexander McQueen.

That evening the Duchess attended the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards at the Natural History Museum where she showed off some leg in a Jenny Packham gown and new jewels by Monica Vinader.

The Duchess was out and about again on Thursday 23rd October when she attended Action on Addiction's Autumn Gala at L’Anima Restaurant in Alice Temperley.

November brought a few more engagements starting with a day in Wales on Saturday 8th November. The couple visited Prembrokshire then flew to thMillennium Stadium in Cardiff to watch the Rugby Union international match between Wales and Australia. Kate wore baby blue Matthew Williamson.

On Sunday 9th November, Kate joined other members of the Royal Family for the Remembrance Sunday Commemorations at the Cenotaph. Kate looked sombre in Alexander McQueen.

Wednesday 12th November saw Kate take part in a SportsAid workshop in Goat - a designer she has favoured in both pregnancies.

For the first time, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium on Thursday 13th November and Kate looked incredible in a Diane von Furtsenberg black lace gown.

Her final engagement on November was Tuesday 25th when she attend the launch of East Anglia's Children's Hospices fundraising appeal to build a new children's hospice in Norfolk.

Kate kicked off December with a board meeting with 1851 Trust Patrons and Trustees at the Goring Hotel. Kate re-wore her Alexander McQueen coat from Remembrance Day.

The couple then travelled New York for a 3-day trip between Sunday 7th and Tuesday 9th December. It brought a busy three days for the couple and some fabulous outfits for us! Kate chose a mixture of British and American designers for the trip. The posts for the trips can be found here - Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3!

The Cambridge's then had a quiet month, with the exception of a black-tie wedding where Kate wore her DVF gown again and reportings of Kate taking Prince George to Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland and Norfolk's Santa Grotto. But, then Kate surprised the Scout's when she attended an event on behalf of a new campaign Better Prepared on Tuesday 16th December.

The next sighting was at Queen Elizabeth's pre-Christmas dinner at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 17th December. Kate looked very festive in red.

The couple once again attended the annual Christmas service at St Mary Magdalene's Church in Sandringham. Kate wore Moloh coat, Lock & Co. hat and a Really Wild Clothing Co. scarf.

January is usually a very quiet month for the couple, however following some bad press last year about how few engagements they had completed in the first couple of months of 2014, they upped their engagement numbers. It also helped to take the pressure off Kate when she went on maternity leave in April.

Kate started the month on Thursday 15th January when she opened the new Art Room at Barlby Primary School. She wore a new maternity label - Madderson London.

The next day, Friday 16th, Kate attended an event hosted by The Fostering Network and wore her Hobbs animal print dress - that she first wore under her Matthew Williamson coat in Wales.

The Duke, Duchess and Prince George then went on a family holiday to Mustique, with Kate's parents and siblings to celebrate Carole Middleton's 60th birthday. A sighting of Kate during the trip saw her wear a loose cover up teamed with an Anya Hindmarch canvas tote. We also saw them board a British Airways plane in St Lucia on their way back to Heathrow.

On their return, a tanned and relaxed Duchess made a private visit, on Tuesday 10th February, to Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School, where she recorded a message. She wore a shirt dress by Jaeger. The next day Kate attended a reception to discuss the Royal Foundation's support for hospices which offer palliative care for young children, however, no photos were released from this event so we are not sure what she wore.

On Thursday 12th February, Kate visited the HQ of Ben Ainslie Racing and the 1851 Trust in Portsmouth. The Duchess kept to the nautical theme choosing a boat print dress by Somerset by Alice Temprley and an ivory coat by MaxMara.

So there we have Kate's second pregnancy timeline. But, how do her outfits compare to her first?

During Kate's first pregnancy, with Prince George, made 22 official appearances.

During her second pregnancy Kate has undertaken a considerably higher number of official appearances, since the pregnancy announcement, totalling 34.

Now, lets look at colours...

So as we can see Kate's maternity wardrobes were very different each time - apart from the odd repeat! She also varied designers and included some new labels in her second pregnancy.

Which is your favourite maternity outfit that the Duchess has worn?

The British Monarchy Facebook Page has lots of pictures and details from the visit, but here are a couple...

They seemed to have a wonderful time. Kate wore her Barbour jacket that we have seen her in many times. She also wore her Le Chameau Vierzon Boots which are still available for £165.

Prince George also looked very adorable in the Snuggly Bunny Bunting Suit with is on sale for £30.90.

He also wore the JoJo Maman Bebe Cable Knit Hat which is available for £12.

He also wore Aigle Baby Flac Boots which are available for £25.

With thanks to Prince George Pieces - for all the above ID's!

Speaking of Prince George, our other piece of news is George related and let's be honest he just keeps getting more adorable!

When Kate was attending The Goring Hotel's 105th birthday celebration in January, told Claudia Gordon, who owns Naples Luxury Travel Advisors in Naples, two anecdotes about the little Prince.

According to "news-press.com" Claudia said...

"I asked her if Prince George was excited about the new Prince or Princess that was coming and she said yes and that he is a toddler and is talking and walking,"

"Then she told me that his daddy was visiting China," continued Claudia. "After hearing this he went to the china cabinet, opened it and proclaimed 'daddy is not here'.

"She said they would work on his geography."

Prince George is clearly becoming a very grown up almost-2-year-old! I do hope we get to see him visit his little brother of sister later this month/early next month!

I will upload my post on Kate's maternity outfits later this week!
