Duchess of Cambridge to Return to Royal Duties

According to Royal Aides the Duchess of Cambridge is preparing to return to royal duties after spending 3 weeks recovering from acute morning sickness. A spokesman told The Mail on Sunday;

'There will be engagements in October and November. We just haven't announced them yet.'

The Duchess’s last official engagement was on the 5th August when she opened a poppy installation at the Tower of London with Prince William and Prince Harry.

The announcement comes shortly after the Duchess was forced to pull out of an official visit to Malta on behalf of the Queen, when Prince William stood in for his wife.

The Duchess was also due to join William at the opening of the China Centre in Oxford three weeks ago but was too will, which led to the Palace having to announce the pregnancy prematurely. The Duchess also missed out attending Prince Harry's Invictus Games.

Now that she is feeling better, the couple are expected to move into their new ten-bedroom Georgian pile, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.

The Daily Mail broke the story about the Duchess's return. This article can be found here.

I will update the calendar as the Palace starts to announce the Duchess's upcoming engagements. However, I have previously done a post on possible engagements that the Duchess may attend, in the next couple of months, that she has attended in the past. This post can be found here.

Marchesa Notte at London Fashion Weekend...A Possible New Designer for the Duchess?

This weekend I visited the London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House where I was also lucky enough to sit front row for the Catwalk Show which feature high-fashion brand Marchesa Notte.

I knew of Marchesa Notte and was already a big fan of the brands dresses, however for those who have never heard of them, you need too! Marchesa Notte specialises in gowns and cocktail dresses; all of them are stunning.

Whilst watching the catwalk all I could think was 'the Duchess of Cambridge would look amazing in these dresses'. Although the brand was created in America it was founded by two Brits; Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig. So, although I feel it is unlikely the Duchess will wear one of their dresses as it would be a complete break with the designers she has chosen in the past, there is still a small chance because of their link to the British fashion industry. Although, during the Duke & Duchess's visit to Austalia, Catherine wore dresses by Tory Burch and Lela Rose. Both were new designers for the Duchess and both were American, so maybe Marchesa Notte wouldn't be that much of a wild card for Duchess! What do you think?!

However, these stunning dresses do come with a hefty price tag and you would need a pretty special occasion to wear them, but, The Outnet currently have several Marchesa Notte dresses at a reduced price!

Although, if you love these Marchesa Notte dresses as much as me, you may be interested in some of these replicas...

Malta Trip Decision...

Kensington Palace have officially announced this morning that the Duchess of Cambridge will not be making her scheduled trip to Malta on behalf of the Queen. Instead Prince William will go on the Queen's behalf. Many people had suggested that this might happen and, personally, I think it is a wonderful substitute.

Although I imagine a lot of people will be a little disappointed that Catherine won't be going, I am sure that everyone can understand why this decision has been made.

William and Catherine reportedly met with doctors last night, which is why the announcement was delayed from yesterday to today. They came to the decision that the Duchess was not well enough to travel to Malta for such a busy schedule. However, fingers crossed, there will be other engagements announced for next month that the Duchess will be attending.

Most notably, on Thursday 16th October there is the annual '100 Women in Hedge Funds Gala' which the Duchess attended in 2011 and again in 2013. This is a possible appearance.

There is also the Singapore State Visit between Tuesday 21st and Thursday 23rd October. The Royal couple visited Singapore as part of the Diamond Jubilee South-East Asia tour, so the couple may make an appearance during this time.

On Sunday 9th November, the Royal Family with gather at the Cenotaph to attend a Remebrance Day Service. Catherine has attended every year and so assuming she is feeling well enough, an appearance is more than likely.

Finally, Thursday 27th November is the annual SportsAid SportsBall which the Duchess attended for the first time last year. It is possible that she may make another appearance this year.

Hopefully the Palace will make an announcement soon and I will try to keep you as up-to-date as possible about any future engagements for the couple.

Baby Joy!!!

Kensington Palace have officially confirmed this morning that the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with the couple's second child. However this joyous news comes with a tinge of sadness, as the Duchess is once again suffering from acute hyperemesis gravidarum, although she is not as yet being admitted to hospital, so hopefully it will not be as bad as it was the first time around. She is instead being treated by surgeon gynaecologist to the Queen, Alan Farthing. Dr. Farthing assisted Marcus Setchell when Kate was expecting George at Kensington Palace. 'Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy and hyperemesis gravidarum are particularly isolating conditions and women are very often left feeling misunderstood and alone for months on end when housebound'.

We are already waiting with baited breath for the new arrival. The Duke and Duchess are already doting parents to Prince George. Although the exact date is not known yet, the new prince or princess is expected to arrive late March or Early April next year.

The Duchess has not yet reached the crucial 12 week stage, however the Duke and Duchess decided to break the news today, as Kate's morning sickness was so bad that she is unable to attend their joint engagement in Oxford today. They were due to formally open The Dicksoon Poon University of Oxford China Center Building later today, but only Prince William will be attending. The Duchess was also expected to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Invictus Games on Wednesday and a Drumhead Service on Thursday. The Palace has not yet confirmed whether the Duchess will attend either event, it is likely to depend on her health on the day, however it has been reported that the Duchess is keen to attend and support Prince Harry with his event.

Prince William looked over the moon, as he attended today's engagement alone. He said; 'She's feeling okay. It's been a tricky few days - week or so - but obviously we're basically thrilled, it's great news, and early days. We're hoping things settle down and she feels a bit better.' Meanwhile, Prince Harry was busy today welcoming the representatives of the Invictus Games to London. Prince Harry said that Kate was 'pretty poorly' but 'doing the best that she can.'

Prince William at The Dicksoon Poon University of Oxford China Center Building

According to the Daily Mail; A senior royal source said: 'The couple only found out very recently. The Duchess has not even reached the crucial 12-week stage. But when it became apparent that she was not well eneough to join the Duke on a joint engagement in Oxford today and that the number of forthcoming engagements could be affected, the Duke and Duchess have taken the difficult decision to be fully open about the pregnancy.'

In a statement the Palace said; 'Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child. The Queen and members of both famillies are delighted with the news. As with her first pregnancy The Duchess is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. He Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.'

Hopefully the Duchess will make a swift recovery in time for her visit to Malta on the 20th & 21st of September. However the Palace have said that a decision about the visit will be made nearer the time and is working on a 'case by case basis'.

I will be back tomorrow with a post on the Duchess's best pregnancy looks and some of the best non-maternity copies!

Welcome!

Now, I know I'm a little late to be jumping on board the Kate Middleton wagon, but I decided to go for it anyway. Ever since Kate Middleton became the Duchess of Cambridge I have envied her fashion and style, and I get really excited when the Duchess wears a high-street dress because I know that I am going to have more of a chance of being able to get one for myself (providing it hasn't already sold out).

But sometimes the Duchess wears a high-end dress or outfit that I love, or that is bespoke, and I am often disappointed that I won't be able to even consider buying my own version. So, I've recently started to try and find a high-street version that is much more affordable. Now, I don't always buy them, but I enjoy knowing that I could if I wanted.

It got me thinking that there is a good chance that there are lots of other people out there who also want to be able to replicate the Duchess's looks with a much cheaper price tag. That is why I have decided to start this blog, despite it being a few years behind!

I have decided to start this blog now, rather than waiting for a new year, because September is a type of new year. It's when school starts again and seen as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been keeping a low profile for the Summer, I thought that is was almost as if they were returning back to school.

I hope you enjoy my blog...
