The Cambridge's at the Polo...

We had an unexpected Cambridge sighting today as Kate took Prince George to watch Prince William play in a charity polo match at Beaufort Polo Club in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.

Earlier this year it was reported that we would see more of Prince George this year and so far that has been the case.

She wore her Sebago Bala Boat Shoes again.

She completed the look with Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses.

Prince George wore his usual colours of white, blue and navy.

He wore the Olivier Cashmere Cardigan with Grey Star.
Prince George wore the same shorts as yesterday, the Mayoral Navy Blue Shorts & Belt Set
.
He was also reportedly wearing black Croccs.

It was a lovely surprise to see the Cambridge family out and about today! We will hopefully see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the Order of the Garter at Windsor Castle tomorrow.

Trooping the Colour 2015...

Today is Trooping the Colour. It is an annual event, and one of the most anticipated events in the Royal calendar. It is the official celebration on the Sovereign's birthday.

Queen Elizabeth attended her first Trooping the Colour as Princess Elizabeth in 1947.

Here is some history on Trooping the Colour from The British Monarchy:

"Although The Queen was born on 21 April, it has long been the tradition to celebrate the Sovereign's birthday publicly on a day in the summer, when good weather is more likely.
Trooping the Colour is carried out by fully trained and operational troops from the Household Division (Foot Guards and Household Cavalry) on Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall, watched by members of the Royal Family, invited guests and members of the public.
This military ceremony dates back to the early eighteenth century or earlier, when the colours (flags) of the battalion were carried (or 'trooped') down the ranks so that they could be seen and recognised by the soldiers.

Since 1748, this parade has also marked the Sovereign's official birthday. From the reign of Edward VII onwards, the Sovereign has taken the salute in person at Trooping the Colour.
During the ceremony, The Queen is greeted by a Royal salute and carries out an inspection of the troops.

After the massed bands have performed a musical 'troop', the escorted Regimental Colour is carried down the ranks.

The Foot Guards and the Household Cavalry then march past Her Majesty, and The King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, rank past.

The Queen rides in a carriage back to Buckingham Palace at the head of her Guards, before taking the salute at the Palace from a dais. The troops then return to barracks.
Her Majesty then joins other members of the Royal Family on the palace balcony for a fly-past by the Royal Air Force.

The Queen has attended Trooping the Colour every year of her reign, except in 1955 when a national rail strike cancelled the event."

The Duchess of Cambridge has attended Trooping the Colour every year, since her wedding in 2011.

Today, the Duchess once again attended. It is her first official appearance since the birth of Princess Charlotte, 6 weeks ago.

The Duchess of Cambridge rode in the first carriage with the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry. The Duchess's both wore a blanket over their knees due to the cold and slightly rainy weather in London.

The Queen looked lovely in pale pink at her 63rd birthday parade - this is a record never matched by any other Monarch.

Prince George was at Buckingham Palace to watch the parade leave.

What a cheeky little Prince! He is being held up at one of Buckingham Palace's windows by his nanny - MariBorrallo.

The Duchess of Cambridge looked lovely in a blue coat-dress and ivory hat.

The coat-dress has been identified as Catherine Walker's Astrid Coat-Dress.

The piece is described as: "a contemporary pencil line and neat rounded collar is sharply tailored in a crisp textured woven ivory and ice blue silk" Here is a closer look at the fabric.

The Duchess has worn several coat-dresses by Catherine Walker.

The Duchess also debuted a new hat by Lock & Co - the Marisabel Hat in Blonde. On the website it is shown in Coffee.

She also wore her unidentified blue topaz oval drop earrings.

It was one of my favourite outfit Kate has worn for Trooping the Colour, what did you think??

First Photo of Princess Charlotte Released...

This evening Kensington Palace released the first official photograph of Princess Charlotte. She is joined by her big brother Prince George.
photo via Kensington Palace Twitter Feed

The photograph was taken by the Duchess of Cambridge at their home in Norfolk - Anmer Hall. It was taken mid-May, so we assume that Princess Charlotte is around 2-weeks old.

It is the first glimpse we have had in to Anmer Hall! They appear to be sat on a cream sofa which has white/ivory cushions on it. It had been reported that the Duchess had chosen neutral colour schemes for both Anmer Hall and Kensington Palace - this photograph supports these reports!

The Cambridge children's outfits have been identified, with thanks to Prince George Pieces.

Princess Charlotte is wearing a a jersey chemise with ruffle trim and a knitted jumper by Spanish brand Irulea, the same brand as the bonnet she wore leaving the Lindo Wing. It is in the colour Bone and comes as a 4-piece set.

It is thought that her leggings are the Pine Leggings by Minutus in White. They are shown in light blue on the website.

Prince George appears to be wearing the same outfit as he wore to visit the Duchess and Princess in hospital, minus the cardigan.

He is wearing the Rachel Riley Cord Short & Shirt Set which is still available for £59.

These are teamed, again, with his Amaia Blue France Socks which are also still available for £7.
He also wore his Startrite Jo First-Walker Shoes in Navy which are available for £37.

They have now released a further three photos of the siblings.

I think it is probably fair to say that we are all having a cuteness overload tonight!! What did you think of the photographs?

Kate Update Bumper Post...

I return with a rather large blog post, so I will apologise for that in advance!

I will start with the most recent news! Today it was announced that Princess Charlotte's christening will take place on Sunday 5th July at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham. It will be performed by The Archbishop of Canterbury.

Prince George's christening took place at St James' Chapel in London, however as the family of four are spending more time in Norfolk - and Prince William now flies for the East Anglian Air Ambulance - it is probably for convenient to hold the christening at Sandringham this time.

St Mary Magdalene's Church is the church used for the Christmas Day service attended by the Royal Family each year.

It is very likely that Princess Catherine will wear the same gown as Prince George, and all royal babies before him.

I am looking forward to seeing what the Duchess wears. The colour theme for Prince George's christening was blue and cream, it is thought that the theme this time could be pink and cream, but we will have to wait and see.

In other Princess Charlotte related news, it has now been 4 weeks since she was born and it was around this time with Prince George that a family photograph was released. It is thought a photo could be released any time now, followed by a separate photo of George and Charlotte July - possibly to celebrate his 2nd birthday on 22nd July.

***

Prince William has returned back to royal duties these last couple of weeks. He has been very busy and began his return, on May 18th, with a visit to Switzerland for a meeting on behalf of United for Wildlife.

The next day, May 19th, he carried out an investiture at Buckingham Palace, on behalf of the Queen.

Prince William was out again the next day, May 20th, when he visited St George's Park to meet the England Women's Senior Football Team ahead of the Women's World Cup this week.

On May 21st, Prince William carried out another investiture at Buckingham Palace and then in the evening he attended a reception at Windsor Castle to mark the 25th Anniversary of Tusk Trust.

Last weekend, both Prince's played in the Audi Polo Challenge, raising money for their respective charities. Prince William was given a miniature pair of Hunter wellington boots for Princess Charlotte.
The wellington boots are available at Hunter for £32.

Also at the weekend as President of FIFA, Prince William attended the FA Cup where he watched his own team, Aston Villa, play Arsenal. Unfortunately, for Williams, Arsenal won and he presented the cup to them.

A busy month for the Prince!!

***

There have been a few engagements announced for Prince William in June, however no official announcements for Catherine. But, it is thought that she will attend Trooping the Colour - the Queen's annual birthday parade - on Saturday 13th June. She has attended every year since 2011.

It has been rumoured that Prince George will make his first appearance on the balcony this year - it would be a real treat if he did!

It is also possible that on Monday 15th June, Kate will attend the Order of the Garter. She does not always attend, but it is a possibility.

Last year, Prince William played polo on Father's Day, if this is the case again this year - Sunday 21st June - then we may get to see George and/or Charlotte. However, it is thought unlikely that we will see Charlotte before her christening - unless in a family photograph!

End of June and the beginning of July brings around Wimbledon - a firm favourite of the Duke and Duchess an dI would be very surprised if they don't make an appearance there too! Kate attended in 2011, twice in 2012 and twice in 2014. She didn't go in 2013 because she was pregnant with Prince George. She usually wears white, and also usually  repeated outfit, although last year she wore a patterned Jonathan Saunders dress too!

***

There is also news that we will start to see Prince George more in an official capacity. The first thought is that he will make his first appearance on the balcony for Trooping the Colour this year.

It is also thought that he may attended the Royal Norfolk Show with his parents. This takes place on 1st and 2nd July. It is a possibility but nothing has been confirmed!

***

The family are currently back in London, no doubt because of Prince William's busier schedule in London. Prince George and the Duchess were spotted at Holland Park on Saturday.

An onlooker said that they were having lots of fun and were dressed in matching outfits of waxed green jackets, jeans and boots - very cute!

***

I am looking forward to seeing the released picture and hopefully news that Kate will be undergoing some engagements - even if it is just Trooping the Colour and Order of the Garter - this month!!
