The photographs were taken by Ed Lane-Fox, Prince Harry's private secretary who is also a former professional photographer.
They were taken last month at Kensington Palace. Prince George's facial expressions showed off his cheeky personality. During the Duke and Duchess's trip to New York, Prince William revealed that Prince George loves playing on his parent's iPad.
Prince George, with thanks to Camilla Tominey of The Sunday Express and Emily Andrews of The Sun who identified what Prince George was wearing, wore Cath Kidston Guards Tank Top, which has already sold out.
He also wore Polarn O. Pyret Classic Organic Cotton Bodysuit which retails for £12 in the sale at the moment. It has not yet been confirmed which trousers Prince George is wearing.
Prince George also wore knee high navy socks and Start-Rite Jo First Walking Shoes which are available for £36.
These photos were released after it was made clear by royal sources that they are part of an acknowledgement of the restraint shown by the media in allowing him to grow up without intrusion from photography, according to The Telegraph.
