Although I didn't start my blog until September, I have watched the Duchess of Cambridge throughout 2014 and thought that we could look back on all of her outfits from the year. So, get yourself a cup and tea and maybe a biscuit? and settle down ready for a post that is probably my longest to date!
January
January is a quiet month for all members of the Royal Family. The Queen and Prince Phillip stay at Sandringham for their Winter break until February and so other members of the Royal Family get this time off too. The Duke and Duchess have occasionally had an engagement during January but not last year.
The Duchess was photographed arriving in Mustique with Prince George and her family. She wore her go-to casual outfit of her Ralph Lauren Breton stripe top, skinny jeans and her Mint Velvet pumps, topped off with Givenchy sunglasses.
February
February brought us our first official photos of the Duchess. She attended The Portrait Gala at the National Portrait Gallery - it is possible that the Duchess will attend again this year. The Duchess chose her Jenny Packham petrol gown that we have seen before and since. She teamed it with a necklace she borrowed from the Queen - The Nizam of Hyderabad Necklace.
The Duchess then spent Valentine's Day at Norfolk High School to officially open the ICAP Art Room. She wore an LK Bennett dress in dolphin blue - that we will see again shortly.
The Duchess then attended a reception at Buckingham Palace with Queen Elizabeth in honour of the Dramatic Arts. The Duchess re-wore her Alexander McQueen dress she originally wore for the Jubilee Pageant in 2012.
March

April
I am sure I don't need to remind anyone of the couple's incredible tour of New Zealand and Australia. Rather than go through every outfit I have montaged the two countries to show you the variety of outfits we saw the Duchess wear!
New Zealand - The Duchess wore a selection of dresses but mostly coats. She also chose footwear that she usually favours in Winter months.
Australia - We saw more dresses here because of the warmer weather. We also saw shoes, such as the Sledge pumps, which are more commonly seen in Summer months.
May
The couple took most of May off in order to relax after such a hectic, and successful, tour. However, they did visit Scotland at the end of the month. It was the couple's first visit to Strathearn (they are known as the Count and Countess of Strathearn when in Scotland). The Duchess chose a striking coat by Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders.
June
June saw the Duchess's schedule get a busier. The couple visited Normandy to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day. The Duchess re-wore her Alexander McQueen coat from New Zealand and her Lock & Co. hat from last year.
The Duchess then had a very busy day when she attended a breakfast reception for Britain’s American Cup Bud at the National Maritime Museum in Jaeger, and then went on the attend the Queen's garden party in honour of Prince Phillip's 93rd birthday at Buckingham Palace in Alexander McQueen.
The couple attended the annual Trooping the Colour to mark the Queen's official birthday. The Duchess wore a new suit by Alexander McQueen and a new hat by Jane Taylor.
The Duchess took Prince George to watch his father play polo on Father's Day, for which the Duchess stuck to her Breton striped top, skinny jeans and Sebago boat shoes - classic Kate.
The next day the Duchess returned to royal duties and attended the Order of the Garter ceremony at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. The Duchess re-wore her Christopher Kane coat from the Olympics with a new hat by Lock & Co.
The Duchess visited Bletchley Park, which was a very personal visit for the Duchess as her grandmother had worked their during the war.
The Duchess made a private visit to the Treehouse Children's Hospice in support of Children's Hospice Week. She wore her Diane Von Furstenberg dress she has had for many years.
The couple also attended an evening reception in honour of The Royal Foundation at The Orangery in Kensington Palace and Place2Be's Annual Conference at The Royal Society of Medicine. There were no pictures from the reception but the Duchess did wear Tory Burch for the conference.
July
The Duchess began July in a salmon pink dress by Goat to make a Place2Be visit in London.
The couple attend the quarterfinals of Wimbledon for which the Duchess stuck to white (a popular colour for the Duchess at Wimbledon) in the form of her Zimmerman dress from Australia.
Kate, William and Harry then travelled to Yorkshire to officially start the Tour de France. The Duchess chose her green Erdem coat. Many though it was an unusual choice because of the thickness of the coat on such a warm dress. Underneath the Duchess wore her Suzannah patterned dress. Many though the dress on its own would have worked better.
The couple then attended the Wimbledon final for which the Duchess wore her Jonathan Saunders dress we first saw in 2012 during their Diamond Jubilee tour.
On Prince George's first birthday, the Palace released a series of new photographs in which the Duchess wore her Suzannah dress, which we had only seen before under her Erdem coat.
The couple and Prince Harry then travelled to Scotland to spend two days at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The Duchess chose a causal outfit of blouse, navy blazer, skinny jeans and wedges for the first day and then chose her Stella McCartney blue dress, navy blazer and wedges for the second day.
August
Again, a quiet month for the couple. At the beginning of the month they travelled to Belgium to represent the Queen at the First Wold War commemoration events. The Duchess wore bespoke Alexander McQueen and a Jane Taylor hat.
The next day, the couple teamed up with Prince Harry again to view the 'Sea of Red' poppy display at the Tower of London. The Duchess re-wore her LK Bennett dolphin blue dress from February.
The couple then laid low in Berkshire and Norfolk with Kate's family. It was announced during this time that Prince William would return to flying with the East Anglian Air Ambulance - which is based close to the couple's home in Norfolk; Anmer Hall.
They were seen leaving a pub near Anmer Hall at the end of the month before they returned to London. The Duchess wore jumper, jeans and her Pied a Terre wedges - very casual.
September
September brought the promise of a busy month for the Duchess. She was expected to undertake her first solo over-seas tour to Malta. However, September did not go to plan with the surprise, and not un-welcome, announcement that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were expecting their second child in 2015. The couple had to make an early announcement again because of the Duchess's morning sickness which meant she could not attend any planned events. Prince William attended the engagements alone and went to Malta instead of the Duchess.
October
The first sighting since the announcement was when the couple were seen leaving a doctors - which many have thought could have been the 12 week scan.
The Duchess then made her official return when she joined Prince William to greet President and First Lady of Singapore, Tony Tan Keng Yam and Mary Chee Bee Kiang, at the Royal Garden Hotel. The Duchess wore Alexander McQueen and repeated a Jane Taylor hat (one of my favourite hats that the Duchess owns)
That evening the Duchess attended the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards at the Natural History Museum in a beautiful bespoke Jenny Packham gown, LK Bennett pale pink suede pumps and beautiful Monica Vinader jewellery.
This was shortly followed by Action on Addiction's Autumn Gala at L’Anima Restaurant. The Duchess was very clearly on the road to a full recovery and looked lovely in Alice Temperley.
November
The couple started November with a visit to Wales. They visited the Valero Pembroke Refinery and also watched a rugby match in Cardiff. The Duchess wore a new coat by Matthew Williamson.
The Duchess then wore black Alexander McQueen for the Remembrance Sunday commemorations at the Cenotaph.
The Duchess attend a SportsAid event to meet young athletes for Tokyo 2020 in a plum shirt dress by Goat - a brand that the Duchess is choosing more and more frequently.
The couple then represented the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium. The Duchess stunned in Diane von Furstenberg.
The Duchess chose a top and skirt combination for the Place2Be School Awards at Kensington Palace.
The Duchess then looked lovely in a red dress by Katherine Hooker, when she attended East Anglia's Children's Hospices Norfolk Capital Appeal Launch at the Norfolk Showground.

December brought another overseas trip for the couple with a visit to New York (and Washington for Prince William). They arrived at The Carlyle hotel before changing to attend a private engagement on behalf of the American Friends of The Royal Foundation. The Duchess landed in Seraphine maternity before changing in to Beulah London.
The next day saw Prince William fly to Washington, meanwhile the Duchess wore a new coat by Goat to accompany the First Lady of New York City, Chirlane McCray, to visit Northside Centre for Child Development.
The couple then met back up to attend a reception to promote Tusk Trust where they met Hillary Clinton at the British Consulate. They then attend an NBA basketball game to help launch a new collaboration between the Royal Foundation, United for Wildlife and the NBA. the Duchess wore Tory Burch - an American designer the Duchess has worn several times this year.
The next day the Duchess wore hot pink Mulberry to pay their respects at the 911 Memorial before visiting The Door, a youth organisation.
The Duchess then removed her coat to reveal a black Serpahine maternity dress and her Cartier trinity necklace she wore back in 2012.
The couple finished off their trip by attending the University of St. Andrews 600th Anniversary Gala Dinner at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Duchess re-wore her Jenny Packham gown we saw in 2013 at the 100 Women in Hedge Fund Gala and earlier this year for the Portrait Gala. I was surprised, as I know many of you were too, that the Duchess didn't choose a new gown for the evening. However, she did debut some stunning new diamond and emerald jewellery.
The couple then stayed low-key with the Duchess only making one more appearance on behalf of the Scouts, which she kept causal in a hooded top, jeans and boots.
They then attended the Queen's annual pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace which they attended with Prince George. Kate wore what we believe to be her red Katherine Hooker dress, however it is hard to tell.
The couple rounded off the year with the annual Christmas Day service at St Mary Magdalen's church with the rest of the Royal Family. The Duchess wore a coat by Moloh (from last year's collection), a Really Wild Clothing Co. scarf and her Lock & Co. hat we have seen on many occasions.
It was a year full of fashion delights, however Rebecca English (royal reporter for the Daily Mail) has written an article stating that the Duchess of Cambridge does not pull her weight, having undertaken only 76 public engagements. However, Prince William and Prince Harry have not undertaken many more and given the Duchess's illness throughout September and October, when she had to pull out of many scheduled engagements, it is not surprising that she has completed less.
