Duke & Duchess of Cambridge at the St Patrick's Day Parade

Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the annual St Patrick's Day Parade at Mons Barracks.

The Duchess presented the 1st Battalion of the Irish Guards with a sprig of shamrock...

...including the collar or the mascot, Irish wolfhound Domhnall.

Following the parade the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a drink inside. Prince William chose Guinness whilst the Duchess stuck to water.

The Duchess wore a new coat today by Catherine Walker. To everyone's surprise she chose to wear brown today not green!

For the last three years the Duchess has worn green. Although I like the green for St Patrick's Day, it is likely that the Duchess will be taking part in this event for many years to come and it was unrealistic to think that she would be wearing green every year.

The Duchess teamed the coat with her Lock & Co Betty Boop hat in chocolate brown. This is the same hat she chose for her first St Patrick's Day parade in 2012.

She wore her hair in a beautiful up-do.

She also wore her Emmy London Valerie heels in chocolate brown which are still available for £400.

The Duchess borrowed the Queen's shamrock gold brooch again and wore a sprig of shamrock underneath. (please excuse the blurry photo)

She also chose to wear her Kiki McDonough Citrine Pear Drop Earrings which retail for £495.

Copy Kate
If you want copy Kate's style from today's event and be a vision in brown then why not try starting with the James Lakeland Boucle Coat which is currently on sale at House of Fraser for £139. It has a metallic thread running through it which makes it suitable for both day or evening. Add some vintage glamour to the outfit with these court shoes by Modcloth which are around $40 or £28. If you want a pair of yellow stone drop earrings like Kate's but without the price tag then why not opt for Carat Round Border Set Drops in Fancy Yellow Diamond which are available for £245 - half the price of Kate's but still a bit of a splurge!
I hope you like my Copy Kate outfit! We will be back tomorrow when the Duchess of Cambridge visits Brookhill Children's Centre in Woolwich.
