Duke and Duchess Honour the 100th Anniversary of the Somme

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry returned to Thiepval Memorial this morning to officials open the new Thiepval Museum and attend a service in honour of those who have fallen.

They were joined by President Francois Hollande and David Cameron for today's engagements.

The royals were joined by many French and British political leaders at the event.

After the service the royals chatted to some of the children that had joined them to pay their respects to the fallen.

They then toured the centre.

It was a very sombre day again today and Kate was dressed beautifully for it.

It is a bespoke lace dress that we have not seen before. Although the designer has not yet been revealed the lace is by French lacemaker Sophie Hallette.

She wore her Gianvito Rossi Pumps.

Kate accessorised with her Lock & Co. The Lion Tamer Hat that she first wore for Trooping the Colour in 2011. She also wore her Annoushka pearl earrings and a poppy and a cornflower on her lapel.
