Ahead of the couples royal tour of India and Bhutan, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge held a pre-tour reception at Kensington Palace.
The Palace have said that this event was designed to allow: "Their Royal Highnesses an opportunity to learn more about India and Bhutan's people, history, current affairs and culture, ahead of their forthcoming tour of the two countries".
During the event, the Duchess told guests that she enjoys Indian food, however Prince William struggles with the spices.
The couple met lots Indian and Bhutanese people from a wide range of backgrounds, most of whom are studying or working in the UK.
Others are involved in British and Indian business, representatives from the British Asian Trust or work with charities.
A lovely photo of the couple posing with students from Bhutan.
The Duchess looked lovely tonight, although many were surprised by her choice of dress as we had presumed she would wear a cocktail dress rather than a full-length piece.
The Duchess was wearing a the Mary Illusion Dot Dress by Indian designer Saloni. It retails for £498 at Moda Operandi.
Shortly after the tour was announced Kate chose to wear Saloni's Martine Dress to the Fostering Awards in November. We had presumed then that Saloni would make an appearance during the tour and the decision to wear another of her dresses tonight seems to solidify that thought.
The Duchess also wore her Cassandra Goad Temple of Heaven Earrings. They retail for £1,495 and are a popular pair for the Duchess.
The Duchess also wore her Rupert Sanderson Malory Pumps, which retail for £424.
